Windows
Windows 11 includes a Sound Recorder app.

Windows 10 comes pre-installed with an app called Voice Recorder.

Mac
You can create a simple audio recording on a Mac with QuickTime Player.

More advanced audio recording is available with GarageBand. This comes pre-installed with most Macs, iPads and iPhones.

Smartphones
Android
Some Android phones come with an audio recording app. If you don’t have one, you can download an audio recording app from the Google Play Store.

Use the Voice Memos app that comes pre-installed on all iPhones.
